Pe baza unei investigaţii de mediu, Ioana Andreea Sculschi, elevă în clasa a X-a D la Colegiul Naţional Onisifor Ghibu, a realizat un material jurnalistic inedit ce vizează pierderea biodiversităţii.

Fotografia de reportaj va fi înscrisă în competiţia derulată în cadrul Programului internaţional Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE), iniţiat de Fundaţia Mondială de Educaţie pentru Mediul Înconjurător (FEE) şi implementat în 34 de ţări, implicând peste 310.000 de elevi şi 12.000 de profesori, în ţara noastră fiind coordonat de Centrul Carpato-Danubian de Geoecologie (CCDG).

“It’s such delightful to admire Nymphaea lotus var. thermalis, an endangered species dating back to the Ice Age and which was declared a natural monument in 1931!

This amazing flower can be currently admired on the main campus of the University of Oradea due to the efforts of researchers who managed to relocate it, because its existence was in danger as a result of the illegal exploitation of the thermal water.

Together, we can determine the authorities to stop its disappearance from the natural environment in order to give these unique flowers the chance to beautify our  existence”, notează Ioana, în descrierea demersului său, solicitată de organizatori.
